The pressures around us can be overwhelming, among them school, family, mental and physical health, friends and social media. It can be hard to know who to talk to, and for that person to have the time to really listen.
Counselling can help by offering you the space to be yourself. To be accepted and not judged. To explore any worries at your own pace and in your own way.
As a young person*, you are my client and you are at the centre of our work together. Often your parent or carer may wish to know what is happening, or to have updates as to how you are progressing. If requested, I can offer a short six-weekly review session, during which we will have the opportunity to share anything you feel comfortable with.
If I feel concerned for your wellbeing at any time, I may need to share this with your parent, carer or other professional, depending on what is appropriate. I would always try my best to discuss this with you first, so you are aware of what is happening.
